Colorado Outdoor Maternity Session – Denver Photographer

Maternity portraits are probably one of my favorite subjects to photograph. As a former ballerina, I find so much beauty and grace in the female body. Flattering a Mama’s shape with handpicked clothing, placing her delicate hands, tucking her hair (I love to create a soft sweep of hair above the shoulder)… it all feels so romantic. And while I love babies and little children, Mama’s are so lovely to photography because they listen and take direction well 😉

We were so fortunate to have this maternity session take place on a warm fall afternoon just outside of Denver. There is nothing more lovely that the blanket of golden sunlight shining through the trees. Mama also wanted a location that featured some tall, whispy golden grass. I’d say we did well!

Both dresses worn for the maternity session were from the client wardrobe, a complimentary perk available to all of my clients. Off the shoulder is such a pretty silhouette for dressing a bump… so is the smocked cut featured on this Sleeper dress (I have it in multiple colors)! It flatter’s her shape so nicely.

Our location, just outside of Denver near Littleton, featured gorgeous open shade, tall grass and a lovely mountain skyline.
